aeqoom is launching AIMA Pallet – a solution for automated pallet warehouse inventories. The product targets the core pain points of traditional stocktaking: operational downtime, high error rates, and expensive manual work. AIMA Pallet is available as a complete, turnkey service for logistics centres, manufacturing warehouses, 3PL operators, and e-commerce fulfilment.

Inventory today: a shuttered warehouse, paper, and errors

In most warehouses, inventory counts are still carried out the same way they were twenty years ago. Operations grind to a halt while workers armed with paper lists or handheld scanners walk aisle after aisle, copying pallet codes, manually cross-referencing them against records, and eventually re-keying the results into the system. The entire process takes hours to days, is prone to transcription errors, oversights, and misplaced positions – and throughout it all, the warehouse can neither receive nor dispatch goods.

The consequences run deep. Inaccurate data leads to poor decisions in planning, procurement, and logistics. An approaching audit or financial close puts unnecessary pressure on the warehouse team, forcing hasty, chaotic corrections at the worst possible time.

Why not drones?

Some companies have attempted to solve this problem with drones. In practice, however, drones hit fundamental limits in pallet warehouses. Narrow aisles and tall racking restrict manoeuvrability and raise collision risk. Short battery life means dozens of interruptions in any sizeable facility. Reading codes in flight is unreliable due to angles, lighting, and pallet wrapping. On top of that, a flying drone poses a safety hazard in spaces shared with people and material-handling equipment – many operations must shut down for the drone flight anyway.

How AIMA Pallet works

AIMA Pallet takes a fundamentally different approach. An operator drives through the warehouse with an inventory unit or AMR equipped with AIMA technology. The system continuously scans pallet codes and their exact positions from a stable distance, with no need for prior warehouse mapping – a simple code-reading configuration is all it takes.

The software imports data from the ERP in real time, compares actual stock against recorded inventory, and automatically generates variance reports. Every item is accompanied by a photograph and precise location. Results are fed back into the ERP system. The entire process is digital, automated, and fully auditable.

What it means for your business

  • Accuracy above 99%. By eliminating the human factor from counting, AIMA delivers data companies can truly trust – enabling better stock management, capacity planning, and customer responsiveness.
  • No operational disruption. An AIMA inventory runs in parallel with day-to-day warehouse operations. There is no need to halt activity, reassign staff, or block receiving and dispatch zones. The warehouse keeps working – and the inventory happens alongside it.
  • Significant cost reduction. Instead of dozens of hours of manual labour, scanning is completed in hours with minimal staffing. Savings appear both in direct labour costs and in the elimination of losses caused by inaccurate stock and erroneous orders.
  • Instant visibility into discrepancies. Every inventory produces a clear overview of variances between physical stock and ERP records. Management and warehouse teams get actionable data immediately – no waiting for manual processing.

Inventory-as-a-Service

AIMA Pallet is offered as a complete, end-to-end service. The aeqoom team supplies the technology and expertise, performs the inventory, processes the data, and integrates the outputs into the customer's ERP. There is no need to invest in proprietary hardware or train in-house personnel.

The solution is ideal for logistics and distribution centres, manufacturing warehouses, 3PL operators, and retail and e-commerce fulfilment.
